The Chicago Center for Contemporary Composition is looking forward to welcoming audiences at our concerts and events this season. The health and safety of our community is of the utmost concern to the CCCC and The University of Chicago. We will follow University-recommended guidelines for hosting events, and these recommendations are subject to change at any time. We encourage you to check this page and the University of Chicago GoForward site frequently for the latest information on CCCC events and public health protocols.
Health & Safety Protocols
Events presented by the Department of Music are open to all invitees who are compliant with UChicago vaccination requirements and, because of ongoing health risks, particularly to the unvaccinated, participants are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures (masking and social distancing, etc.) appropriate to their vaccination status as advised by public health officials or to their individual vulnerabilities as advised by a medical professional. Public convening may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures.
Beginning October 15, all event attendees over age 12 who are attending public Music Department events must provide proof of vaccination and wear masks. By exception, visitors who are unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons or due to a sincerely-held religious belief may provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event, or proof of a positive test 14-90 days prior to the event with affirmation that you are not experiencing any symptoms.
Proof of vaccination or COVID test must be in English. University of Chicago students and staff subject to the University’s vaccine requirements may demonstrate proof of compliance by presenting their UChicago ID (UCID). The Music Department requires that all visitors, artists, vendors, students, faculty, and staff follow the health & safety protocols below.
The University of Chicago’s COVID-19 daily health protocols apply to everyone on campus. Anyone coming to campus is expected to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. Any person who feels unwell or (a) has any COVID-19 Symptoms (b) has had a positive COVID-19 test in the past 10 days, or (c) has had close contact with anyone confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19 agrees not to come to campus.
All individuals are required to wear a face covering over the nose and the mouth at all times while indoors on campus. A fully-vaccinated individual may remove their face covering to eat or drink. An unvaccinated individual may remove their face covering to eat or drink so long as they maintain six feet of social distance from others.
